The LFV offers an "Open School" program for nursery and elementary schools, and occasionally for secondary schools, during the vacations (except Christmas), but not always for the whole vacation period. Open School generally runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All French courses are taught by Lycée or Lycée-affiliated staff (substitutes, etc.).

With the exception of July, the principle of open school in normal times is to offer homework help and educational activities in the morning, with the afternoon reserved for more fun activities or outings.

Registration is via the Eduka platform, and places are limited. 

NB: The LFV sends out all the information about this "Open School" before each vacation, and the programs are fine-tuned for each session.

For summer 2023, 2 Open School periods: 

• Dates: July 3 to 7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

with a multi-sport / archaeology / as well as primary and nursery groups.

The kindergarten week will be based on the theme of animals, with an outing to the ZOO and workshops on this theme, plus outings to the wasserspielplatze.

The primary week will be based on the theme of water, with outings to the hydro-electric plant/museum and other outdoor activities.

Daily rate: 50 euros, including lunch.

•  Dates: August 28 to 31, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

For August, the main focus is on a smooth return to school for all classes, and special support for the transition from Grandes Sections to Primary and CM2 to Collège.
